Abstract
Salah satu logam yang mencemari lingkungan akibat kegiatan industri adalah Kromium (Cr). Pada area industri elektroplating di Pati, Indonesia, Cr telah masuk dalam area tanah hingga 27,7 mg/kg. Pencemaran Cr perlu ditanggulangi karena Cr dapat dikategorikan berbahaya karena dapat menyebabkan kanker dan gangguan metabolisme pada manusia. Salah satu metode penyisihan Cr merupakan fitoremediasi. Fitoremediasi dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan tumbuhan hiperakumulator lokal. Helianthus annus, Zinnia elegans, dan Impatiens balsamina merupakan beberapa tumbuhan lokal yang dapat digunakan sebagai tumbuhan hiperakumulator. Penelitian ini menentukan kemampuan campuran tumbuhan Helianthus annus, Zinnia elegans, dan Impatiens balsamina dalam meremediasi Cr. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menentukan pengaruh keberadaan pencemar Cr dan pengaruh penambahan glukosa (C6H12O6) di tanah tercemar Cr pada laju respirasi mikroorganisme di media tanah. Variasi campuran tumbuhan yang digunakan yaitu dengan pengaturan penanaman tumbuhan secara tunggal dan campuran. Parameter yang diuji adalah laju respirasi mikroorganisme di tanah dengan CO2 meter, konsentrasi pencemar Cr dalam tanah, konsentrasi pencemar Cr dalam masing-masing tumbuhan. Variabel yang digunakan yaitu jenis tumbuhan; variasi tumbuhan dalam 1 pot; penambahan glukosa (C6H12O6) pada media tanah.
Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan CO2 meter untuk mengukur laju respirasi mikroorganisme dalam media tanah dan alat uji yang digunakan

yaitu Atomic Absorption Spectophotometry (AAS) untuk mengukur kandungan Cr pada tanah dan tumbuhan. CO2 meter yang digunakan memiliki prinsip kerja yang memanfaatkan sensor NDIR (non-dispersive infrared) melalui pengukuran absorbansi karakteristik panjang gelombang.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kemampuan penyisihan Cr oleh campuran tumbuhan Helianthus annus, Zinnia elegans, dan Impatiens balsamina ditinjau dari produksi CO2 pada tanah. Selain itu dari hasil pengukuran CO2 juga didapatkan adanya pengaruh penambahan C6H12O6 pada aktivitas mikroba di tanah. Campuran tumbuhan juga mampu meremoval Cr dalam tanah hingga 74%.

One of the metals that can pollute the environment due to industrial activity is Chromium (Cr). In Indonesia, Cr has polluting the soil up to 27,7 mg/kg. The pollution of Cr categorized as a dangerous pollutant because it can cause cancer and nuisance of metabolism to human. One of the method for eliminating Cr pollution is fitoremediation. Fitoremediation is done by using local hyperaccumulator plants, thus in this research the chosen plants are Helianthus annus, Zinnia elegans, and Impatiens balsamina. This research determines the ability of mixed plants between Helianthus annus, Zinnia elegans, and Impatiens balsamina in remediating Cr. This research also determines the impact of Cr pollutant and the impact of adding glucose (C6H12O6) to the soil that polluted by Cr due to the respiration rate of microorganism in soil media. The variation of mixed plants that used in this research is using the single and mixed variation. Parameter that used in this research are respiration rate of microorganism in soil using CO2 meter, the concentration of Cr pollution in soil, and the concentration of Cr pollutant in each plants. Variabel that used in this research are the variation of plants type, the variation of plants in one pot, the variation of glucose (C6H12O6) added in soil media.
The method that used in this research is using CO2 meter to measure the respiration rate of microorganism in soil media. The equipment used in this research is Atomic Absorption Spectophotometry (AAS) for measuring Cr contained in soil and plant. CO2 meter that used in this research has the principal that utilize the NDIR (non-dispersive infrared) sensor by measuring the absorbance with the wave-lenghth characteristic.

The result of this research is showing the ability of eliminating Cr by the mixed plants between Helianthus annus, Zinnia elegans, and Impatiens balsamina due to CO2 production in soil. Beside that, from the result of CO2 measuring, it is known that there is impacts of adding the Cr pollutant and C6H12O6 from the activity of microbes in soil. Mixed plants can also remove 74% Cr in polluted soil.
