Abstract
Pada penelitian ini dilakukan fabrikasi dan karakterisasi directional coupler konfigurasi 4x4 pada serat optik plastik multimode tipe FD-620-10 menggunakan metode heating and pressing. Fabrikasi dan karakterisasi dilakukan dengan variasi panjang kupasan yaitu 25mm, 35mm, dan 45mm. Fabrikasi direksional coupler dilakukan dengan cara memanaskan serat optik pada suh 125o .Hasil karakterisasi directional coupler bahwa pada panjang kupasan 25mm menunjukan hasil rugi daya total atau excess loss pada masing-masing port adalah port A1 1,511 dB, port B1 2,208 dB, port C1 1,128, dan port D1 0,355 dB. Sedangkan untuk nilai coupling ratio adalah port A1 CR = 0,38 ; 0,1 ;0,3 ; 0,22, port B1 CR = 0,14; 0,48; 0,3; 0,08 , port C1 CR = 0,1 ; 0,16; 0,54; 0,2 , port D1 CR = 0,3; 0,12; 0,28; 0,3. Directional coupler ini dapat diaplikasikan sebagai pembagi daya dalam piranti optik.
======================================================================= In this research, fabrication and characterization of 4x4 directional coupler configuration in multimode plastic optical fiber type FD-620-10 using heating and pressing method. Fabrication and characterization is done with variations of peak lengths of 25mm, 35mm, and 45mm. Fabrication of directional coupler is done by heating the optical fiber at suh 125o. The result of characterization of directional coupler that at 25mm peel length indicates the result of total power loss or excess loss on each port is 1.511 dB A1 port, 2,208 dB port B1, port C1 1,128, and port D1 0,355 dB. As for the value of coupling ratio is port A1 CR = 0.38; 0.1; 0.3; 0.22, port B1 CR = 0.14; 0.48; 0.3; 0.08, port C1 CR = 0.1; 0.16; 0.54; 0.2, port D1 CR = 0.3; 0.12; 0.28; 0.3. This directional coupler can be applied as a power divider in optical devices
