Abstract

Kecelakaan kapal masih sering terjadi di Indonesia, tidak terkecuali kapal katamaran. Pembebanan yang terjadi secara terus-menerus akan menimbulkan kelelahan material, dan akan berakibat timbulnya retak. Kepatahan yang terjadi karena adanya retak awal (initial crack) yang dapat memperkecil umur dari kapal tersebut dan berpotensi menyebabkan kerugian jika tidak ditindak lanjuti. Perambatan retak dapat terjadi pada pelat geladak setelah adanya retak awal, tidak terkecuali kapal katamaran yang memiliki luasan geladak lebih lebar dibanding kapal lambung tunggal. Analisa perambatan retak setelah retak awal terjadi dan pengaruhnya terhadap umur lelah pelat geladak dan metode yang digunakan adalah linear-elastic fracture mechanics. Dari hasil perhitungan dengan material Aluminium 5083 pada retak awal sebesar 0,5 mm didapatkan umur lelah selama 10,9 tahun , retak awal 1 mm selama 7,7 tahun, dan retak awal 1,5 mm selama 5,7 tahun. Sedangkan pada pelat berbahan Baja A36 pada retak awal 0,5 mm diperoleh umur lelah selama 70,6 tahun, retak awal 1 mm selama 43,2 tahun, dan retak awal 1,5 mm selama 29,3 tahun.========================================================Shipwreck are still common in Indonesia, so does catamaran boat. Catamaran is large-bodied vessels boat whose has advantages over the type of single hull ship, which has better stability because it has a larger deck size and also better stability. In Indonesia, the transportation mode accidents are still frequent, so does catamaran boat. The presence of a continuous work load will incur material fatigue, and will result in cracking. Fracture due to initial crack and pressure distributions could reduce the age of deck material and it could be dangerous if left uncheced. For this reason, this final year project conducted analysis of the crack propagation after the initial crack occurs and its effect on the fatigue life of deck plates and the method which used in analysis is linear-elastic fracture mechanics. From the calculation, the Aluminium 5083 who has initial crack of 0,5 mm obtained fatigue life for 10,9 years, at initial crack 1 mm for 7,7 years, and the initial crack at 1,5 mm for 5,7 years. While on the plate made of Steel A36 at the beginning of 0.5 mm crack obtained fatigue life for 70.6 years, at initial crack 1 mm for 43.2 years, and crack who has the initial 1.5 mm for 29.3 years.
