Abstract

Otentikasi biometrik telah mendapat perhatian luas selama beberapa dekade terakhir dengan meningkatnya permintaan alat pengenalan seseorang secara otomatis. Diantara banyak teknik biometrik, pengenalan sidik jari adalah salah satu pendekatan yang paling menjanjikan karena keandalan yang tinggi untuk identifikasi pribadi. Sidik jari merupakan salah satu bagian tubuh yang sangat unik pada tiap orang. Metode yang sudah dipatenkan masih menuai banyak kekurangan terutama ketika input gambar sidik jari kurang jelas. Kerusakan gambar input bisa berupa keadan ujung jari yang tidak terduga seperti ujung jari basah karena keringat, ujung jari kasar, ujung jari kotor, ujung jari yang terpapar sakit alergi kulit dan lain-lain. Pada tugas akhir ini akan menggunakan algoritma Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) tersebut untuk menguji dalam melakukan verifikasi sidik jari dengan sampel gambar yang mengalami gangguan. Dengan harapan penelitan ini dapat digunakan untuk riset dan penelitian kembali dalam aplikasi visi komputer, biometrik ataupun keamanan.

Biometric authentication has received widespread attention in recent decades with the increasing demand of a person recognition tool automatically. Among many biometric techniques, fingerprint recognition is one of the most promising approaches because of its high reliability for personal identification. Fingerprint is one of the most unique body parts in each person. Patented methods still reap a lot of flaws especially when fingerprint image input is less clear. The damage to the input image can be an unexpected fingertip when shooting like a wet fingertip due to sweat, an improper fingertip in the center of the sensor, a fingertip tipped from the sensor, a rushed fingertip while shooting and so on. In this final project will use Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm to test in doing fingerprint verification with the sample of image that has disturbance. With the hope of this research can be used for research and re-research in computer vision applications, biometrics or security.
