Abstract

Hyperbilirubinemia is a yellowish sign in infants resulting from improper liver function in screening bilirubin in the blood. The birth rate of infants in East Java that reaches 500 thousand people per year with the incidence of infants affected by hyperbilirubinemia at birth of 268 per 1,000 births causes one of the fears for the government. This study aims to examine the factors that influence the incidence of hyperbilirubinemia in infants in hospitals Prof. Dr. Soekandar Mojokerto 2017. This study uses secondary data obtained from medical records. The focus of this study is newborns aged 0-28 days. Binary logistic regression method was used to determine the association between infants affected by hyperbilirubinemia and the factors that were suspected to affect it. The results showed that of 345 babies there were 72% of infants affected by hyperbilirubinemia. The results of this study were factors that showed the association with the status of hyperbilirubinemia affected was the weight of the baby was born with low category that is <2500 gram and the process of cesarean delivery.
