Abstract
Penyediaan sumber daya energi dimasa mendatang menjadi masalah
pembangkit energi tenaga arus laut.
sebesar 252,9 kW/m2, sedangkan lokasi 2 sebesar 1,3 kW/m2.

Provision of energy resources in the future becomes a problem for countries in
the world. Utilization of ocean currents energy is one solution to overcome the
problem so as to save the use of fossil energy such as petroleum and gas. The
Toyopakeh Strait located in Bali Province is one of the waters that has a
relatively large current velocity so it is very supportive in the development of
ocean current energy generation. The speed of sea currents in the area is
influenced by the occurrence of tidal or commonly called the type of tidal
currents. The velocity of sea currents in the area can reach 2 m / s in the period of
5 hours to 20 hours each day. Tidal data, bathymetry data, and ocean current
velocity data are used for modeling current patterns using Delf3D Software. From
the modeling result known that the current condition is dominated by the tidal
current having the type of back and forth. For the calculation of energy potential
only sought the value of power generated from the movement of the ocean
currents. The average power density of location 1 is 252.9 kW / m2, whereas
location 2 is 1.3 kW / m2
