Abstract

Health indicator according to WHO (World Health Organization), 1981, is a variable for measuring transformation either directly or indirectly. The problems of health indicator in East Java Province in 2012 include the Life Expectancy of East Java Province in 2012 reached 70.09 years, but it is not accompanied by the decreasing number of deaths that have occurred, such as the number of DHF (Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever) patients cases which increased from 5374 cases in 2011 to 8266 cases in 2012, it relates to the amount of health centers in the East Java Province which is still less than national targets. Similar problems occurred in Surabaya with some health indicators that need to be addressed as infants below the red line (BMG), Surabaya occupies the second highest position within East Java Province in 2357 as the number of infants under five, besides dengue disease also increased from 1008 cases in 2011 to 1091 cases in 2012. Other issues is Surabaya included in 6 cities low related about coverage of births attended by skilled health personnel as well as having the lowest percentage of residents who have health insurance. It is expected that the problem of health indicator in Surabaya reach targeted by the government, then performed a Cluster Analysis using Ward’s method and obtained three groups of public health indicators.
