Abstract

PT. Sari Tani Perkayuan Indonesia adalah perusahaan manufaktur yang bergerak di bidang produksi kayu lapis (plywood), dalam proses pembuatan plywood dibutuhkan veneer short core dan veneer long core. Veneer short core yang diproduksi masih banyak terdapat cacat berupa mata kayu maupun lubang gerek terutama pada grade B. Dalam melakukan pemeriksaan karakteristik kualitas perusahaan hanya membedakan sesuai dan tidak sesuai sehingga tidak ada informasi yang dapat disampaikan, oleh karena itu pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisis kapabilitas proses untuk mengetahui apakah proses produksi yang berlangsung sudah memenuhi batas sepsifikasi yang telah ditetapkan atau belum dan dicari akar permasalahan yang menjadi penyebab produk cacat sehingga dapat dilakukan perbaikan yang akan datang. Hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada fase I dan fase II belum terkendali secara statistik karena terdapat pengamatan yang berada diluar batas kendali hal ini disebabkan karena kualitas log yang jelek. Hasil produksi veneer short core grade B pada fase I tidak kapabel karena memiliki nilai p%p sebesar -0,38548 dan p%pk sebesar -0,22746, fase II nilai p%p sebesar -0,3851 dan p%pk sebesar -0,2269.

PT. Sari Tani Perkayuan Indonesia is a manufacturing company which engaged in plywood production, in the process of making plywood, it required short core veneer and long core veneer. Short core veneer produced still has many defects in the form of “mata kayu” and “lubang gerek” especially on grade B. In evaluating the quality characteristics, the company only distinguish conformities or nonconformities so that no information obtained, based on that inspection, a company has never been using a capability process to an evaluated production process. It can cause the defects in the veneer short core might not be reduced, but instead. Therefore, this study carried out statistical quality control to determine whether the production process that took place has met the limit specs that have been established or not, and also tought the root of the problem that causes the defective product so, in the future, the defective product can be repaired. From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that phase I and phase II have not been statistically controlled because there are observations that out of controls because of poor log quality. The result production of short core grade B veneer in phase I is not capable because the value of p%p is -0,38548 and p%pk is -0,22746, phase II is not capable because the value of p%p is -0,3851and p%pk is -0,2269.
