Abstract
Sintesis serbuk zirkon menggunakan metode hidrotermal dengan variasi jenis dan konsentrasi larutan NaOH dan KOH telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini menggunakan bahan dasar pasir zirkon puya dari Kereng Pangi, Kalimantan Tengah. Sintesis dilakukan dengan variasi jenis basa NaOH dan KOH serta variasi konsentrasi larutan 5, 7, dan 9 M. Karakterisasi dilakukan menggunakan X-Ray Fluorescene (XRF), Particle Size Analyzer (PSA) dan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Hasil uji XRF menunjukkan bahwa terdapat unsur Zr sebesar 92% pada pasir zirkon puya. Jenis larutan yang digunakan tidak berpengaruh pada fase kristal pada sampel. Serbuk zirkon yang dihasilkan melalui proses hidrotermal menggunakan NaOH dan KOH memiliki fasa tetragonal. Ukuran serbuk zirkon yang dihasilkan berada di rentang nilai 430,5-1051 nanometer pada penggunaan NaOH dan 110,4-325,1 nanometer pada penggunaan KOH. Jumlah massa serbuk zirkon yang dapat dihasilkan dari 20 gram pasir hasil leaching berada di rentang nilai 18,12-19,28 gram pada penggunaan NaOH dan 16,15-17,77 gram pada penggunaan KOH.

Synthesis of zircon powder using a hydrothermal method with type and concentration variation of solution has been performed. This research used puya zircon sand from Kereng Pangi, Central Kalimantan. The synthesis conducted with NaOH and KOH solution and 5, 7, and 9 base concentration. Characterizations conducted using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Particle Size Analyzer (PSA) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). XRF test results showed 92% Zr element contained in the puya sand. Solution variation used does not affect the crystal phase on sample. Zircon powder produced by hydrothermal process using NaOH and KOH has a tetragonal phase. Zircon powder size is in the range of 430,5-1051 nanometer on NaOH usage and 110,4-325,1 nanometer on KOH usage. Total mass of zircon powder produced from 20 gram of leaching sand is in the range of 18,12-19,28 gram on NaOH usage and 16,15-17,77 gram on KOH usage.
