Abstract

Fuel is one of the main needs in the industrial world, fuel is also one of the important issues that need to be solved in the world of industry, especially fuel oils such as gasoline and diesel. The rise in the price of fuel oil increases the awareness that so far the world is still very dependent on these energy sources. Indonesia is one of the countries that have energy crisis problems. The energy reserves are getting thinner. One of the alternative energy sources that can be developed is a gas fuel in the form of LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) which is one of natural gas with large enough reserves in Indonesia. In general, some engine such as in motorcycles still use a liquid fuel, which is gasoline. Therefore, the research on gasoline-fueled motor engines to be modified using LPG gas fuel is needed.
The research was modifying the fuel of a Komodo KD 250AT fin 4 stroke which originally fueled by gasoline into 3 Kg LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), a gas produced by Pertamina. In order to use the LPG fuel, the car's engine must be modified by adding the converter kit on the intake channel. The purpose of this modification is to find the effect of LPG fuel pressure to obtain the most ideal mixture composition in Komodo car. The method is by comparing the gas pressure that get into the combustion chamber with some different variations of the particular opening trhottles and checks its performance with the dynotest.
The Gas Fueled Four Stroke 250cc Engine Power Optimation On Constant Rotation With Variation of Fuel Pressure And Aperture Valve (Throttle) Test results data in the form of Trendlines. The Trendline with the highest LPG fuel consumption rate occurs at 20mbar pressure with minimum fuel consumption rate 0.5851kg/hr and maximum 5.7923 kg/hr, while the Trendline with the lowest LPG fuel consumption rate occurs at 5 mbar pressure with minimum fuel consumption rate 0.5851kg/hr and maximum 4.7173 kg/hr. The highest optimum rotation was obtained at 20mbar pressure on 78% opened throttle, which is 9800 rpm spin, while the lowest optimum rotation was obtained at 5mbar pressure on 85% opened throttle, which is 8000rpm. The most optimum use of specific fuel occurs at 5 mbar pressure on a 65% opened throttle and bsfc 2x10-4 kg/(watt.hr).
