Abstract
Salah satu akibat dari penyakit Diabetes Mellitus adalah degenerasi pada sel-sel epitel tubulus ginjal yang dapat dicegah dengan cara meningkatkan kadar antioksidan. Kadar antioksidan dapat diperoleh salah satunya dari black garlic. Black garlic merupakan hasil olahan bawang putih yang diperoleh melalui proses pemanasan pada suhu tinggi selama 21 hari. Kandungan antioksidan pada black garlic sebesar 25,81-58,33 mg GAE/g lebih tinggi daripada bawang putih mentah sebesar 13,91 mg GAE/g sehingga black garlic dapat mencegah degenerasi pada sel-sel tubulus ginjal. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak black garlic terhadap jumlah degenerasi sel epitel tubulus ginjal menggunakan tikus wistar jantan yang terkena penyakit Diabetes Mellitus sebagai media percobaan dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu ekstrak black garlic dengan dosis 0,15 (ml/200g BB/hari), 0,30 (ml/200g BB/hari), 0,60 (ml/200g BB/hari) dan kontrol memberikan pengaruh terhadap jumlah degenerasi sel epitel tubulus ginjal pada tikus wistar jantan yang terkena Diabetes Mellitus.

One of the consequences of Diabetes Mellitus disease is the degeneration of kidney tubule epithelial cells that can be prevented by increasing levels of antioxidants. one of the ways of Antioxidant levels can be obtained by black garlic. Black garlic is the result of processed garlic itself which is obtained by the heating process at high temperature for 21 days. The total Antioxidant content in black garlic is 25,81-58,33 mg GAE / g higher than raw garlic equal to 13,91 mg GAE / g. so black garlic can prevent degeneration in renal tubular cells. This study was conducted to determine the effect of black garlic extract on the number of degeneration of renal tubular epithelial cells by using male Wistar rats that influence Diabetes Mellitus disease as a trial medium with complete randomized design (RAL). The results in the different doses of black garlic extract dose of 0,15 (ml/200g BB/day), 0,30 (ml/200g BB/day), 0,60 (ml/200g BB/day) dan control are given effected to the number of degeneration of renal tubular epithelial cells in male Wistar rats which affected by Diabetes Mellitus.
