Abstract

PT.PAL Indonesia (Persero) merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang industri perkapalan, dimana produk utamanya proyek pembuatan kapal. Pada tahun 2016 PT. PAL Indonesia (Persero) menenerima proyek bentang utama Jembatan Holtekamp Papua. Proses welding adalah bagian proses produksi yang cukup penting sebab jika terjadi cacat pada proses akan mempengaruhi kualitas. Jenis cacat yang mungkin terjadi pada proses welding yaitu Crack, Incomplete Penetration, Lack of Fusion, Slag Line, Slag Inclusion, Porosity dan Clustered Porosity. Selama ini pengendalian kualitas yang telah dilakukan oleh perusahaan hanyalah dengan menyajikan persentase cacat dalam bentuk grafik, sehingga masih belum dapat diketahui apakah proses tersebut telah terkendali dan kapabel. Pada penelitian ini ingin diketahui kapabilitas, level sigma proses welding dan faktor-faktor apa saja yang menjadi penyebab terjadinya cacat dengan menggunakan peta kendali demerit, diagram pareto dan diagram ishikawa. Hasilnya menunjukan bahwa proses tidak kapabel, hal ini ditunjukan dengan indeks kapabilitas ( ) sebesar 0,025, dan diperoleh level sigma sebesar 3,225 serta penyebab terjadinya cacat yaitu dipengaruhi oleh kelalaian membersikan medan las, psikologi welder karena proses welding dilakukan di ketinggian, wayer rod terlalu lembab, baja terkena hujan dan penerangan yang kurang. ==================================================================================================
PT.PAL Indonesia (Persero) is one of the companies engaged in the shipping industry, where the main product shipbuilding project, but also receives the project Holtekamp Papua’s Main Span. Welding process is the most important part of the production process, because if there is a defect in the process will affect the quality. The types of defects that may occur in the welding process are Crack, Incomplete Penetration, Lack of Fusion, Slag Line, Slag Inclusion, Porosity and Clustered Porosity. So far, the quality control that has been done by the company is only to present the percentage of defects in the graphs, so it still can’t be known whether the process has been controlled and capable. In this research, we want to know the capability and sigma level of the welding process and what factors are causing the defect by using demerit control chart, pareto diagram and fish bone diagram. The result shows that capability is not capable, this is indicated by capability index ( )is 0.025, while the sigma level is 3,225 and the root cause of the defect is influenced by several factors such as neglect to clean the welding field, welder psycology because the welding process is done at altitude, wayer rodis too moist, steel exposed to rain, and lack of lighting.
