Abstract
Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan penentuan bioaktivitas dari ekstrak metanol dan fraksi-fraksi dari daun S. polyanthum Wight sebagai antioksidan, antidiabetes dan antibakteri. Antioksidan diuji dengan mengukur penghambatan radikal bebas DPPH dan ABTS. Antidiabetes diuji dengan mengukur penghambatan enzim α-glukosidase dan aldosa reduktase. Antibakteri diuji dengan mengukur penghambatan terhadap 4 bakteri patogen (Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa dan Bacillus subtilis). Berdasarkan hasil bioaktivitas ekstrak metanol dan fraksi-fraksi tersebut, telah dilakukan isolasi senyawa dengan metode pemisahan dan pemurnian, serta identifikasi struktur senyawa menggunakan analisa 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HMBC dan HMQC. Hasil isolasi senyawa dari fraksi etil asetat didapatkan senyawa E5.C3 yang merupakan senyawa etil 4-hidroksi-3(3’-metil-2’-butenil)benzoat. Ekstrak metanol, fraksi-fraksi dan senyawa metabolit dalam daun S. polyanthum Wight tersebut dapat berpotensi sebagai alternatif pengobatan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan masyarakat.

In this research, bioactivities of methanol extract and its fractions of S.
polyanthum Wight leaves as antioxidant, antidiabetes and antibacterial have been
determined. Antioxidants were tested by measuring the inhibition of DPPH and
ABTS free radical. Antidiabetes was tested by measuring the inhibition of αglucosidase and aldose reductase enzymes. Antibacterials were tested by
measuring inhibition of 4 pathogenic bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus,
Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus subtilis). Based on the
result of bioactivities of methanol extract and its fractions, further isolation of
compounds by separation and purification method, and identification of structure
of compound using analysis of 1H-NMR,
13C-NMR, HMBC and HMQC. The
result of isolation of the compound from ethyl acetate fraction was found E5.C3
compound which is ethyl 4-hydroxy-3(3’-metyl-2’-butenyl)benzoate compound.
The methanol extracts, fractions and metabolite compounds in the S. polyanthum
Wight leaves can potentially serve as an alternative treatment of plant extracts to
improve public health.
