Abstract

Industri kosmetik, merupakan industri yang banyak menggunakan fluida basa sebagai bahan baku produksi. Agar tidak terjadi polusi udara maka dibutuhkan pompa dryer yang mendistribusikan fluida dingin dari cooling tower menuju barometric condenser guna memisahkan udara bersih dengan partikel sabun. Sehubungan dengan meningkatnya kapasitas air pendingin ke kondensor barometrik, maka dibutuhkan desain ulang instalasi dryer pump. Perhitungan head, kapasitas, daya dan efisiensi dihitung secara manual oleh penulis dan dihitung secara numerik oleh softtware Pipe Flow Experts. Sesuai dengan kapasitas design pada instalasi pompa dryer 300m3/jam, sehingga didapatkan diameter pipa suction = 12”, diamter pipa discharge = 8”, NPSHa = 5m dan dengan head effektif instalasi (Heff) sebesar 52,856m serta daya pompa sebesar 70,5Kw, maka dipilih pompa yang sesuai untuk desain ini adalah single stage centrifugal pump merk EBARA type FSA-LA (150 × 125). ================================================================================ Cosmetic industry is an industry that uses a lot of alkaline fluids as raw material for production, for prevent an air pollution, a dryer pump is needed which is need for distributes cold water from the cooling tower to barometric condenser for separate clean air and soap particles,with regrad to increasing the cooling water capacity to the barometric condenser, and thus surely need to redesign instalation and the selection of pump for dryer pump instalation. Head, capacity, power and efficiency calculation are manually calculated by the author and numerically calculated by Pipe Flow Experts software. Based on capaciticy for redesign instalation dryer pump 300 m^3/jam, diameter for Suction pipe =12”, diamtre discharge pipe =8” NPSHa=5m and the effective head of instalation’s is 52,856 with the pump power 70,5Kw, consequently most suitable pump selection for this design is single stage centrifugal pump brand EBARA type FSA-LA (150×125).
