Abstract

Tongkol jagung merupakan limbah dari tanaman jagung yang mempunyai banyak manfaat seperti menjadi pakan hewan ternak ruminansia. Tetapi hingga saat ini, pemanfaatan tongkol jagung sebagai pakan hewan ternak ruminansia di Indonesia khususnya di daerah Nganjuk Jawa Timur masih berjumlah 1 tempat produksi di tiap kecamatan, dan prosesnya masih manual. Karena masih belum banyak yang mengerti tentang manfaat tersebut. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, maka dibuat sebuah alat pengolah limbah tongkol jagung dengan kapasitas 235 kg/jam menjadi pakan ternak hewan ruminansia. Cara pengoperasiannya adalah dengan cara memasukkan tongkol jagung ke penghancur yang akan dihancurkan oleh 9 pisau pemotong. Dari perencanaan dan perhitungan, dibutuhkan engine dengan daya minimal 5,05 HP dengan rpm 3200 untuk menggerakkan 9 pisau pemotong yang ditranmisikan oleh belt dan pulley. Dimana pulley dengan 2 alur, diameter pulley motor 103 mm, diameter pulley poros 180 mm dihubungkan oleh v-belt tipe A nomor 70. Setelah dilakukan uji coba, didapatkan tongkol jagung yang berukuran ± 5 mm dengan waktu yang efisien. ========================================================= Corncob is a waste of corn crops that have many benefits such as feed ruminant livestock. But until now, the use of corncob as feed for ruminants in Indonesia, especially in Nganjuk East Java area still amounts to 1 production place in each district, and the process is still manual. Because not many people understand about the benefits. Based on these conditions, then made a tool processing waste corncob with 235 kg/hour capacity to be animal feed ruminansia. The way it is operated is by inserting the corncob to the crusher to be destroyed by 9 cutting blades.. From the planning and calculation, a machine with a minimum of 5.05 HP at 3200 rpm is needed to drive the 9 cutting blades that are transmitted by belt and pulley. Where the pulley with 2 grooves, the diameter of the motor pulley 103 mm, the diameter of the shaft pulley 180 mm, connected by the type A v-belt number 70. After the trial, obtained small corncob measuring ± 5 mm with efficient production time.
