Abstract

Aluminium seri 6061 memiliki unsur paduan aluminium
dengan komposisi Al, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mg, Mn, Si, Ti, Zn. Aluminium
6061 merupakan paduan aluminium yang pada umumnya
diaplikasikan untuk otomotif maupun alat-alat kontruksi. Paduan
aluminium 6061 mempunyai sifat-sifat yang menguntungkan
seperti tahan terhadap korosi, bisa dilaku panas, ketangguhan
baik, serta sifat mampu las yang baik, sehingga banyak industri
maju menggunakan material ini sebagai bahan utama untuk
perancangan alat maupun kontruksi. Selain itu Aluminium seri
6061 juga sering digunakan untuk diaplikasikan pada temperatur
dibawah nol derajat, tangki-tanki LNG, bejana tekanan
temperatur rendah, peralatan kelautan, rig pengeboran, struktur
rangka bangunan, pembangunan struktur pesawat seperti sayap
dan badan pesawat, cano, gerbong kereta api, dan konstruksi
kapal pesiar.
Metode yang dapat diterapkan untuk mendapatkan aluminium
dengan kekerasan dan kekuatan yang optimal antara lain dengan
laku panas presipitation hardening atau age hardening. Untuk
mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh temperatur aging terhadap
kekerasan, kekuatan dan struktur mikro aluminium 6061 maka dilakukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh variasi temperatur aging
terhadap uji kekerasan, kekuatan atau impak, dan metalografi.
Aluminium 6061 dipotong menjadi benda kerja uji kekerasan, uji
impak, dan uji metalografi sesuai dengan standart ASTM. Tahap
pertama laku panas aging yaitu benda kerja di laku panas solution
treatment dengan temperatur 300oC selama 1 jam. Tahap kedua
benda kerja hasil solution treatment diquenching dengan media
air. Tahap terahir benda kerja di aging dengan variasi temperatur
30, 100, 150 dan 200oC selama 1 jam kemudian di quenching
dengan media air. Benda kerja hasil proses aging di uji
metalografi, uji impak, uji kekerasan.
Dari hasil pengujian didapati bahwa kekerasan terus
meningkat seiring kenaikan temperatur aging dan kekerasan
maksimal didapati pada temperatur 150
oC. Kemudian ketika ditemperatur 175 dan 200oC kekerasan menurun. Sedangkan kekuatan impaknya turun seiring dengan kenaikan temperature aging dan kekuatan impak terendah didapati pada temperatur
150oC kemudian ketika di temperatur 175 dan 200oC kekuatan
impak naik. Kekerasan berubah turun dan kekuatan impak
berubah naik ketika di aging pada temperatur 175oC karena itu
sudah termasuk daerah over aging.

Aluminum 6061 series has aluminum alloy element with composition of Al, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mg, Mn, Si, Ti, Zn. Aluminum 6061 is an aluminum alloy that is generally applied for automotive as well as construction tools. The aluminum alloy 6061 has favorable properties such as corrosion resistance, heat conductivity, good toughness, and good welding properties, so that many advanced industries use this material as the main material for designing tools and construction. In addition the Aluminum 6061 series is also often used to be applied to temperatures below zero degrees, LNG tanks, low pressure pressure vessels, marine equipment, drill rigs, building frame structures, aircraft structure constructions such as wings and fuselage, canoes, railway cars , and yacht construction.
Methods that can be applied to obtain aluminum with hardness and optimal strength include heat retraceptives hardening or age hardening. To find out how the influence of aging temperature on hardness, strength and microstructure of aluminum 6061, the research on the effect of aging temperature variation on hardness test, strength or impact, and metallography. Aluminum 6061 is cut into hard work hardness test, impact test, and metallographic test according to ASTM standart. The first step is heat treatment of hot aging that is workpiece in hot solution treatment treatment with temperature 300oC for 1 hour. The second stage of the workpiece solution solution is diquenching with water media. The last stage of work is aging with temperature variations of 30, 100, 150 and 200 oC for 1 hour later in quenching with water media. Work on aging process result in metallographic test, impact test, hardness test.
From the results of the test it was found that the violence continues to increase as the aging temperature rise and maximum hardness is found at 150oC. Then when the pressure of 175 and 200 oC hardness decreases. While the impact strength decreases as the aging temperature increases and the lowest impact strength is found at 150oC then when at the temperature of 175 and 200oC the impact strength rises. Violence changes and the impact force changes up when aging at 175oC because it includes over aging areas.
