Abstract

Shuttle travel merupakan salah satu jasa layanan transportasi darat yang keberadaanya penting dan selalu dibutuhkan. Shuttle travel berperan sebagai layanan transportasi darat pengumpan atau feeder bagi tulang punggung penyelenggaraan transportasi nasional, yaitu transportasi laut dan udara. Shuttle travel yang mayoritas armadanya meggunakan kendaraan jenis minibus merupakan salah satu layanan transportasi antar-kota yang memiliki berbagai macam rute. Salah satu kelebihan shuttle travel adalah pelayanan door-to-door dan kapasitas penumpang yang sedikit. Namun, perkembangan inovasi dalam bisnis shuttle travel mengalami stagnansi dalam pelayanannya, baik servis maupun kualitas armada, sedangkan orientasi konsumen saat ini perlahan berubah dari yang dulunya harga menjadi kualitas. Kebutuhan untuk meningkatkan pelayanan ini tidak dapat dipenuhi oleh minibus produksi karoseri yang selama ini hanya berfokus pada kuantitas kursi. Selain itu, minibus produksi karoseri minim varian di mana shuttle travel memiliki rute yang beragam dan tidak bisa disamakan. Berbagai rute shuttle travel tersebut juga memiliki kebutuhan spesifiknya masing-masing di mana salah satunya adalah rute bandara. Shuttle travel rute bandara adalah layanan jasa transportasi, baik dari bandara ke berbagai kota maupun sebaliknya. Mengacu pada target konsumen pra- dan pasca-penerbangan, shuttle travel rute bandara memiliki kebutuhan-kebutuhan spesifik, seperti bagasi yang memadai dan desain kendaraan yang nyaman. Melihat permasalahan tersebut, konsep comforting dan organized diimplementasikan pada desain perancangan ini berdasarkan brainstorming ide dan analisis user yang telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pilihan unit armada minibus yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan spesifik tersebut. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah in-depth interview terhadap pemilik bisnis shuttle travel di Surabaya dan tinjauan berbagai literatur. Beberapa studi dan analisis yang berhubungan dengan regulasi, rute, pemilihan platform, kenyamanan berkendara, impresi, baik dari desain interior maupun eksterior, hingga penerapan teori jarak dan ruang antar individu dilakukan dalam perancangan minibus ini sehingga dapat mefasilitasi bisnis shuttle travel dengan rute bandara.=====================================================Shuttle travel is a type of public transportation which its service is important and will be needed in the long term. Shuttle travel acts as feeder for the main public transportation, such as maritime and air transportation. Shuttle travel that commonly uses minibus for its service has a lot of route across cities in each province. One of the advantages of shuttle travel is its door-to-door service and its fewer capacity. However, the situation of shuttle travel business is stagnant. Most of shuttle travel business today are trying to improve both of their service and vehicle quality. While the shuttle travel business are intending to improve their service quality, minibuses that are produced by the second stage manufacturers only offer greater seat capacity. This intended improvement, followed by its various routes, is not accommodated by the manufacturers since their minibuses lack of variety. It can not fit with the fact that each different route has its own needs. For example, the shuttle travel business that operates from the airports need to comply particular needs of baggage space or a vehicle design with its own specific kind of services. The purpose of this design is to provide shuttle travel business a minibus with its own specific feature for the airport route. In-depth interview towards shuttle travel business owners in Surabaya as well as secondary observation about consumer preferences on shuttle travel are used in this project. Several studies and analysis related to regulation, platform specification, driving comfort, the impression of both interior and exterior design and the application of distance and space theory between individuals are used in the design process of this minibus so that the demand of shuttle travel business with airport route could be complied.
