Abstract

PT.

PT. XYZ is one of big companies in Indonesia producing palm cooking oil. Focus of this research is the loading system which is the outflow of finished goods from warehouse to container. In order to increase system output considering investment cost of improvement scenarios, the optimal number of resources including reach truck, staging forklift, loading forklift, and checker are determined. A simulation method by running software Arena 14.0 for model construction of system is used to solve the problem. The simulation model of the system will analyze and identify queue that happen in the system. Improvement scenarios will be designed to overcome queue. Resources will be added in a part of system that have big amount of queue. Based on the result of identifying the queue, there are 11 improvement scenarios that have been made. The improvement scenarios will be tested using comparing system method to choose which scenario that significantly different with existing model of system. Improvement scenarios that pass the comparing system will go to investment cost simulation in order to see whether they are better than existing model. From the result of the calculation, the conclusion of this research is to use the second scenario which consists of 3 reach trucks, 3 staging forklifts, 2 loading forklifts, and 9 checkers.
