Abstract
Proses stabilisasi/solidifikasi (S/S) menggunakan semen
portland banyak digunakan untuk pengolahan limbah B3 yang
mengandung logam berat. Penggunaan fly ash dapat mengurangi
kebutuhan akan semen, sehingga dapat menurunkan biaya
pengolahan.
test.

The stabilization/solidification (S/S) process using portland
cement is widely known for treating hazardous waste containing
heavy metals. Fly ash addition can reduce the need of cement in
order to lower the processing costs. The S/S process can be
disturbed by organic compounds which exist in the waste. This
research aims to: (1) determine the optimum composition of
cement and fly ash in the solidification of simulated wastewater
containing copper, chromium (VI), and lead, (2) analyze the effect
of paraffin as representative of organic matter on the S/S product
quality.
Raw materials were molded in cubes of 5 cm x 5 cm x 5
cm size. Composition of type I portland cement and fly ash was
varied to 100:0, 90:10, 80:20, 70:30, and 60:4 ratios. Paraffin was
added to the optimum composition of cement and fly ash in varied
proportions of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10%. The S/S product quality
was measured using compressive strength, Toxicity Characteristic
Leaching Procedure (TCLP), and paint filter tests.
Results of this research showed that the optimum
composition of cement and fly ash was 90:10. The product had a
compressive strength value of 3300 tons/m2, TCLP test results for
copper, chromium (VI) and lead of 0.018, 0.442, and 0.033 mg/L
respectively. The paint filter test resulted in no free liquid seeped
out. All TCLP test results met the quality standards. Paraffin
addition gave no significant effect on the compressive strength
values, but affected the TCLP test results significantly.
