Abstract
PT.Kutai Timber Indonesia merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang Industri olahan kayu dari kayu gelondongan menjadi lembaran kayu setengah jadi, lebih dari 40 tahun perusahaan ini telah melayani pelanggan dengan maksimal dan meningkatkan gaya hidup para pelanggannya melalui produk yang dihasilkan. Salah satu produk yang dihasilkan oleh PT. Kutai Timber Indonesia yang terbesar adalah kayu plywood, dari semua jenis plywood yang paling rutin diproduki dan memiliki harga jual paling mahal yaitu produk plywood 3,7 techno. Perusahaan sangat mengedepankan kualitas dan kepuasan dari pelanggan sehingga perusahaan selalu melakukan inspeksi 100% terhadap produk yang dihasilkan. Terdapat 3 jenis grade untuk tipe plywood 3,7 techno. Cacat yang ada di perusahaan paling banyak terdapat pada grade B dimana masing-masing memiliki jumlah yang bervariasi. Maka kondisi seperti ini dimungkinkan untuk menggunakan diagram kendali u dalam pengendalian kualitasnya. Setelah dilakukan pengendalian didapatkan bahwasanya proses produksi plywood 3,7 techno telah terkendali secara statistik pada iterasi keempat. Hasil analisis kapabilitas proses menunjukkan proses produksi plywood 3,7 techno masih belum kapabel dengan nilai kapabilitas kurang dari satu (0,381<1). Dari diagram pareto diketahui jenis cacat dominan, yakni plywood pecah dan core kasar dengan persentase cacat sebesar 64,6%. Setelah dianalisis penyebabnya dengan diagram sebab akibat, ternyata disebabkan oleh lima faktor utama, yakni setting mesin yang belum sesuai, operator yang mengalami kelelahan, penerapan metode yang kurang sesuai dengan kondisi karyawan, lingkungan yang kurang mendukung, dan komposisi bahan baku yang kurang sesuai.

PT. Kutai Timber Indonesia is one of the companies worked on wood industry, within more than 40 years this company has been serving its costumer maximally and has improved its costumer’s lifestyle through the products. One of the products that is largely produced by PT. Kutai Timber Indonesia is plywood, of all plywood types are most commonly produced and has the most expensive selling price namely plywood 3.7 techno. The company always prioritizes quality and customers’ satisfaction so that the company always performs 100% inspection toward all the products produced. There are three types of grades for the type of plywood 3.7 techno. The defect that exists in the company is mostly on grade B in which each has various amount. So in this circumstance is possible to use U control diagram in its quality control. After the quality control is done, it is obtained that plywood 3.7 techno production process has been controlled statistically in the fourth iteration. The capability process analysis result shows that plywood 3.7 techno production process still incapable with 0,381 value less than one. From the pareto diagram is known the dominant defect types, which are plywood is cracked and the core is rugged with defect percentage 64.6%. After analyzing the cause using cause-effect diagram, apparently that there are 5 main factors which contribute, namely inappropriate machine setting, fatigued operator, inappropriate method application toward employee’s condition, unsupportive environment, and inappropriate composition of raw material.
