Abstract

Inventory management at the retail mining line is one of the important
aspects to be considered so that retail mining companies can meet consumer needs
while still minimizing costs. The problems faced by retail mining companies, one
of which is in mining, is the determination of spare part requirements from each
retail mining and distribution center warehouse which is still carried out based on
expert judgment so that it can increase the risk of overstock or shortage. In
addition, the determination of spare part requirements for each retail mining is still
managed independently so that it can lead to demand distortions and have an
impact on high inventory costs. This study proposes the development of a Vendor
Managed Inventory (VMI) model with cases of single vendors, single warehouses,
multi retail mining, and multi-products to support inventory management in retail
mining companies using the genetic algorithm method. The purpose of this study
is to minimize the total inventory costs and decision variables, namely to
determine the order quantity of each branch (qij), reorder points of each branch
(rij), the frequency of delivery to each branch for each period (nij) and order
distribution center warehouse quantity (Qi). In the development of the model
generate inventory costs of Rp 52,252,161.00. This value is lower by 17.77%
compared to the existing inventory cost.
