Abstract

Dalam sistem tenaga listrik, sistem proteksi merupakan komponen penting untuk menjaga kelangsungan dan keandalan penyaluran energi listrik. Dimana sistem proteksi ini berfungsi untuk mengisolasi gangguan agar tidak terjadi kerusakan pada peralatan dan menjaga kontinuitas pelayanan pada bagian sistem tenaga listrik yang tidak mengalami gangguan. Salah satu peralatan yang berperan dalam sistem proteksi adalah rele diferensial yang digunakan untuk melindungi generator dan transformator. Dalam kegiatan operasionalnya, Saka Indonesia Pangkah Ltd mengalami gangguan selama CT (Current Transformers) saturasi saat transformator daya 5 MVA dienergize dan rele diferensial generator 4.3 MVA trip. Sehingga mengakibatkan generator terputus dari sistem dan suplai daya listrik ke beban terhenti. Pada tugas akhir ini akan dibahas adanya kegagalan proteksi diferensial selama CT (Current Transformers) saturasi. Analisis yang dilakukan meliputi performansi CT saat transformator daya 5 MVA dienergize. Kemudian akan dilakukan pemodelan dan simulasi melalui software MATLAB. Dari hasil analisis dan simulasi tersebut dapat dicari alternatif solusi yang baik untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang ada dengan metode transient bias. Metode ini digunakan untuk meningkatkan batas ambang trip dari rele diferensial. Dimana peningkatan ambang trip (operating current) diperoleh dari penambahan arus bias dan arus transient bias. =================================================================================================== In electric power systems, the protection system is the most important component to maintain the continuity and the reability of electrical energy. It serves to isolate the disturbance to avoid damaging equipments and maintain continuity of service on the part of electric power systems which is not disturbed. One of the equipments that play role in protection system is differential relay which is used to protect generators and transformers. On its operations, Saka Indonesia Pangkah Ltd is disturbing when the CT is saturated, 5 MVA power transformer is being energize and differential relay of 4.3 MVA generators tripped. Resulting the generator disconnected from the system and power supply to the load stopped. In this thesis will be discuss the failure of differential protection for CT (Current Transformers) saturation. Analysis was conducted on the performance of CT when 5 MVA transformer is being energize. Then it will be done through modeling and simulating on MATLAB. From the analisys result can be look for good alternative solution to solve the problem with transient bias method. This method is used to increase the trip threshold of the differential relay. Where an increase of the trip threshold (operating current) obtained from the addition of bias current and bias transient current.
