Abstract
Palembang adalah kota terbesar kedua di Sumatera setelah Medan dengan luas wilayah 358,55 km² dan dihuni 1,8 juta orang dengan kepadatan penduduk 4.800 per km². Kota Palembang terbagi menjadi dua bagian yaitu sebrang ulu dan ilir. Pada bagian sebrang ulu terdapat Wilayah Jakbaring yang memiliki komplek olahraga yaitu Jakabaring Sport City (JSC) yang berada di atas lahan seluas 325 hektar. Kawasan tersebut terletak dan berjarak sejauh 6 km dari pusat kota Palembang. Saat ini pemerintah kota Palembang sedang melakukan pengembangan kota baru pada wilayah Jakabaring yang bertemakan kota olahraga. Saat ini, kota baru yang berkembang di Indonesia belum ada yang bertemakan kota olahraga.Penelitian ini bertujuan merumuskan arahan pengembangan Kota Baru Jakabaring bertema sport city. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut diperlukan 2 sasaran, pertama yaitu merumuskan faktor-faktor pengembangan Jakabaring sebagai kota baru bertema sport city. Kedua, merumuskan arahan pengembangan Jakabaring sebagai kota baru bertema sport city
Pada pengembangan kota baru ini terdapat beberapa faktor-faktor prioritas yang mempengaruhi pengembangan kota baru, yaitu kelengkapan fasilitas, lapangan pekerjaan, jumlah penduduk, aksesibilitas, kondisi lingkungan (sosial ekonomi, budaya), standar kualitas, tingkatan keolahragaan dan kelengkapan venue. Kemudian sasaran kedua menghasilkan arahan pengembangan kota baru jakabaring sebagai sport city.

Palembangis the second largest city in Sumatra after Medan. The area of Palembangcity is 385,55 km2 and is inhabited by 1,8 million people with a population density of 4,800 km2 Palembangcity is divided into two parts, namely ulu and ilir. On the other side of the ulu there is an area called Jakabaringwhich has a sports complex, namely JakabaringSport City (JSC), which is located 6 km from the center of Palembangcity. is the goverment of Palembangcity is developing a newtown with the idea of a city of sports.For now there is no newtown that has the idea of a sports city in indonesia.This studyaims to formulate the direction of the development of the newtown of Jakabaringas a newtown with the idea of sport city. To achieve this goal, 2 objects are needed thefirst is by formulating factors for the development of Jakabaringas a newtown with the concept of sport city and the second is by formulating the direction of Jakabaringdevelopment as a newtown based on sport city.In the development of this newtown there are several priority factors that influence the development of newtown, there are the completeness of facilities jobs employment, population, accessibility, environmental conditions (socio-economic, cultural), quality standards, sports levels and the completeness of venues. Then the second target produces direction for the development of the new city of Jababaring as a sports city
