Abstract

Inhibitor adalah salah satu komponen yang sangt penting bagi duni industri, khusunya pada industri yang menggunakan logam-logam berat. namun penggunaan inhibitor semakin dibatasi karena sifatnya yang toksik dan limbahnya tida ramah lingkungan. inhibitor organik adalah jawaban dari masalah ini, selain bersifat aman dan ramah lingkugan, inhibitor organik juga memiliki harga yang murah. Namun bukan berarti inhibitor organik tidak memiliki kelemahan, inhibitor organik cenderung tidak stabil saat digunakan pada temperatur diatas rata-rata temperatur normal. studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa pengaruh pencampuran ekstrak daun kelor sebagai inhibitor organik terhadap laju korosi pada baja API 5L Grade B dengan variasi konsentrasi dan temperatur. Uji yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini meliputi GC-MS, FTIR, Weightloss, Electrochemical, SEM-EDX dan AAS. Dari hasil uji weightloss diperoleh laju korosi terendah pada konnsentrasi sebesar 2000ppm dengan efisiensi sebesar 81.21% dan laju korosi terendah pada temperatur sebesar 20C dengan efisiensi sebesar 81.25% melalui hasil uji polarisasi, mekanisme inhibisi inhibitor ini bertipe mixing inhibitor.

Inhibitor is one of the components that are very important for the industrial world, especially for industries that use heavy metals. However, the use of inhibitors is limited, because it is toxic and not environmentally friendly. Organic inhibitors are the answer to this problem, besides being safe and environmentally friendly, organic inhibitors also have low prices. However, not an organic inhibitor, it has no disadvantages, organic inhibitors are not stable when used at normal average temperatures. This study aims to analyze the combination of Moringa leaf extract as an organic inhibitor of the corrosion rate in API 5L Grade B steel with variations in concentration and temperature. The trials conducted in this study include GC-MS, FTIR, Weightloss, Electrochemistry, SEM-EDX and AAS. From the weightloss test results obtained the lowest corrosion rate at a concentration of 2000ppm with an efficiency of 81.21% and the lowest corrosion rate at a temperature of 200C with an efficiency of 81.25%. Through the results of the polarization test, this inhibitor inhibitor is a type of mixing inhibitor
