Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest archipelagic countries in the world located in the Southeast Asia Continent and is a developing country among its neighbors. The development of a country is influenced by many factors including population growth and economy. As the population increases, the country also plans to develop one of them in the electricity sector that has been assigned to the RUPTL (Rencana Usaha Penyediaan Tenaga Listrik / Electricity Supply Business Plan) to increase the national electrification ratio, with the basis of the design, it is also necessary to analyze its stability. In this final project will discuss the small signal stability of the Kalimantan 150KV AC electrical system that connects East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan to get a suitable design using Modal Analysis.
Modal Analysis provides eigenvalue data, mode shape and participation factor. The system is said to be stable if all eigenvalue values are negative and otherwise. Eigenvalue also has a critical value, where the real part approaches the imaginary axis so that the critical value is to know which generator affects the level of system instability. The results of the analysis show that the conditions before and after interconnection in 2018 stated stable in terms of small-signal stability.
