Abstract
Al 6061 merupakan paduan yang memiliki kekuatan
cukup tinggi, ringan,, dan ekonomis serta memilki aplikasi pada
sayap pesawat terbang. Pada penelitian ini Aluminium 6061
dibuat dengan proses pengecoran lalu dilanjutkan precipitation
hardening untuk mengetahui pengaruhnya terhadap struktur
mikro dan sifat kekerasan pada paduan Aluminium 6061. Paduan
ini dilebur menggunakan furnace dengan temperatur 650°C.
Setelah dilebur logam cair dituang pada cetakan pasir dan
didinginkan. Selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian komposisi kimia.
Kemudian dilakukan proses precipitation hardening pada
temperatur 450ºC dilanjutkan pendinginan cepat dengan media air
dan dilakukan proses aging pada temperatur 175ºC dan 200oC
dengan waktu aging 1,2,3 dan 4 jam. Pengujian yang digunakan
dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan X-Ray Fluorscence (XRF),
difraksi sinar-X (XRD), metalografi dan pengujian sifat
kekerasan. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan struktur mikro yang
terbentuk adalah fasa α Al . Nilai kekerasan tertinggi paduan Al
6061 dicapai pada temperature 200oC, waktu aging 4 jam dengan
nilai 79,43 HV.

Al 6061 is an alloy that has a high enough strength,
lightweight, and economical and have applications on the wings
of aircraft. In this research, Aluminum 6061 made by casting
process then continued precipitation hardening to know its effect
to micro structure and hardness value at Aluminum 6061 alloy.
The alloy is melted using a furnace with a temperature of 650 ° C.
Once melted the molten metal is poured on the sand mold and
solidification begins. Then do a chemical composition test for Al
6061 casting result. The precipitation hardening process start at
450ºC then continued by rapid cooling with water medium and
aging process at 175ºC and 200oC with aging time of 1,2,3 and 4
hours. Tests which is used for speciments are X-Ray Fluorescence
(XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), metallography and hardmess
testing. From the result of research, the micro structure which is
formed is an alpha Aluminium phase. The highest hardness value
of Al 6061 alloys is achieved at temperature 200oC, aging 4 hours
with 79,43 HV.
