Abstract

E-Learning merupakan wadah yang mempermudah pengajar dan pelajar dalam melakukan pembelajaran. Saat ini hampir seluruh instansi yang menggunakan e-learning, satu diantaranya yaitu Departemen Informatika Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). Meaningful learning merupakan suatu proses mengkaitkan informasi baru pada konsep-konsep relevan yang terdapat dalam struktur kognitif seseorang. Meaningful learning terjadi ketika pelajar itu aktif, konstruktif, intensional, kooperatif dan bekerja pada tugas autentik. Salah satu aspek meaningful learning yaitu aspek aktif. Keterlibatan pelajar terhadap aspek aktif meaningful learning dapat dilihat dari aktivitas pelajar yang dilakukan dalam e-learning. Namun, saat ini dari sistem e-learning berbasis Moodle masih belum ada pengembangan plugin untuk mengukur keterlibatan pelajar dalam aktivitas e-learning yang telah disediakan.

Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, maka dibangun plugin pengukuran aspek aktif meaningful learning dalam Moodle untuk pengajar. Plugin ini dikembangkan melalui Moodle dikarenakan Moodle merupakan aplikasi Course Manajemen Sistem (CMS) berbasis web yang biasanya digunakan pada e-learning. Plugin yang dibangun bertipe report, dimana plugin ini menyediakan tampilan data yang berguna di situs Moodle untuk pengajar.

Dengan adanya plugin ini, pengajar dapat melihat tingkat keterlibatan pelajar terhadap aspek aktif meaningful learning serta melihat kemajuan studi pelajar berdasarkan tren waktu.

E-Learning is a container that makes it easy for teachers and students to do learning. At present almost all institutions use e-learning, only one is in Information Department Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology. Meaningful learning is a process of linking new information to concepts that are relevant to one's cognitive structure. Learning means that there is an active, constructive, intentional, cooperative compilation of students and working on authentic tasks. One aspect of learning is meaningful is the active aspect. Regarding students to the active aspects that can be learned can be seen from student activities carried out in e-learning. However, currently from the Moodle based e-learning system there is still no plugin development to measure student participation in e-learning activities that have been provided.

To overcome this problem, a plugin was built to measure the active aspects of meaningful learning in Moodle for instructors. This plugin is developed through Moodle because Moodle is a web-based System Management Course (CMS) application that is usually used in e-learning. Plugins are built in the type of report, where this plugin provides a useful display of data on the Moodle site for instructors.

With this plugin, teachers can see the level of student participation in the active aspects of meaningful learning and see the progress of student studies based on time trends.
