Abstract

Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a wireless network that consists of a group of moving nodes. Each node can behave as a host and act as a router. Dynamic movement of nodes causes changes to the MANET network topology. Therefore, it is needed a routing protocol that can meet network requirements so that it can provide an optimal routing path. One of the routing protocols used in MANET is Ad Hoc on Demand Distance Vector. AODV which is categorized as reactive routing protocol only stores routing information around the active path and host. In AODV, if the source node wants to send packet to the destination but there is no route available, then the node will do a route discovery process. The implementation of the analysis is done using network simulator 2 (NS-2) by testing the functionality and performance through several predetermined scenarios. The results of the test are a graph of Nakagami propagation performance on the AODV routing protocol that is measured by routing overhead (RO), packet delivery ratio (PDR), and end-to-end delay. The results of the analysis in this Final Project show the value of the packet delivery ratio of 84.6%, routing overhead of 736.8 packages and end-to-end delay of 0.129 seconds.
