Abstract

Dengan semakin meningkatnya kegiatan tour dengan sepeda maka kebutuhan akan sepeda touring semakin meningkat. Sebagian besar bikepacker di indonesia menggunakan sepeda berjenis MTB cross country dan Roadbike yang dimodifikasi digunakan untuk touring. Salah satu kebutuhan terbesar sepeda touring adalah kenyamanan dan keseimbangan karena beban yang dibawa cukup berat. Dengan adanya desain sepeda touring berbasis platform recumbent trike yang memiliki keunggulan dalam hal keseimbangan dan kenyamanan akan membuat bikepacker lebih efektif dalam menggunakan energi karena bikepacker dapat memfokuskan tenaga tanpa memikirkan keseimbangan sehingga dapat meminimalisir rasa lelah. Pengembangan desain sepeda touring berbasis platfrom recumbent trike bertujuan untuk memberikan variasi dan terobosan pada sepeda touring sehingga memberi warna baru bagi bikepacker saat melakukan tour, bikepacker akan merasa lebih nyaman dan santai sehingga lebih menikmati perjalanan. Permasalahan yang dihadapi kebanyakan pengguna recumbent trike adalah sepeda kurang lincah saat bermanuver sekaligus dimensi sepeda yang besar sehingga para bikepacker kesulitan saat membawa sepeda dengan transportasi pendukung. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan serta kebutuhan bikepacker maka metode yang digunakan adalah eksplorasi desain frame dan kursi sekaligus mekanisme sistem yang digunakan, eksplorasi desain berdasarkan tentang kebutuhan dan aktivitas bikepacker saat melakukan tour. Selanjutnya prototype desain sepeda diuji coba sehingga layak digunakan, seluruh tahap tersebut bertujuan untuk mendapatkan konsep desain recumbent trike yang sesuai untuk kebutuhan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kenyamanan bikepacker. Konsep desain yang diambil untuk sepeda touring ini adalah sistem tilting dan lepas pasang untuk menunjang kenyamanan dan mobilitas sepeda saat melaju, sekaligus efisiensi tempat saat melakukan packing ketika sepeda dimuat dengan kendaraan lain. Hasil desain yang menjadi prototype diharapkan mampu untuk menjawab dan memenuhi kebutuhan bikepacker sekaligus menjadi alternatif kendaraan touring yang dapat diandalkan.

With the growing trend of traveling by bicycle then the need for bicycles is increasing. Most bikepackers in Indonesia use bicycles with the type of MTB cross country and Roadbike used for touring. One of the great need of touring bikes is Comfort and balance due to heavy loads. With the design of a touring bike platform that stretches the trike that has the advantage in terms of balance and comfort will make the bikepacker more effective in using energy because the bikepacker can focus energy without thinking of balance so as to minimize fatigue. The development of touring bikes based on platfrom recumbent trike has the purpose to provide variations and breakthroughs on touring bikes so that it gives a new color for bikepacker when touring, bikepacker will feel more comfortable and relaxed so they enjoy the trip more. The problem faced by most recumbent trike users is that bicycles are less agile when maneuvering as well as large bicycle dimensions so that the bikepacker has difficulty when carrying a bicycle with supporting transportation. To solve the problems and needs of bikepacker, the method used is the exploration of frame and chair design as well as the mechanism of the system used, design exploration based on the needs and activities of bikepacker when conducting a tour. Furthermore, the bicycle design prototype was tested so that it was feasible to use, all of these stages aimed to obtain a recumbent trike design concept that was suitable for the needs in an effort to increase the comfort of bikepacker. The design concept taken for these touring bikes is tilting and off-set systems to support the comfort and mobility of bicycles when driving, as well as the efficiency of the place when packing when the bike is loaded with other vehicles. The design results that became the prototype are expected to be able to answer and meet the needs of bikepacker as well as being a reliable alternative touring vehicle.
