Abstract

Batik Blitar yang dikenal sekarang baru direvitalisasi semenjak satu dekade lalu pada 2007. Dengan usia yang terbilang muda, batik Blitar masih belum banyak dikenal secara luas. Belum berkembangnya media pengenalan yang mengangkat potensi batik Blitar merupakan masalah yang menjadi titik krusial. Media pengenalan tersebut dihadirkan dalam bentuk buku visual batik Blitar yang memberikan kemudahan untuk dibuat dan didistribusikan ke berbagai macam saluran. Gagasan tersebut didukung oleh para pengrajin batik, instansi-instansi pemerintah, dan tokoh-tokoh masyarakat.
Data batik Blitar dikumpulkan menggunakan metode studi literatur, depth interview, dan observasi. Studi literatur meliputi studi eksisting komparator dan tinjauan pustaka. Depth interview digunakan untuk mendapatkan insight dari pengrajin batik, dinas pemerintah, dan stakeholder. Observasi digunakan untuk mengambil data dari lingkungan dengan cara pendokumentasian objek dan subjek. Data penelitian yang didapatkan lalu diolah dengan metode affinity diagram dan kemudian disusun kedalam sistematika penulisan buku. Sistematika meliputi tentang sejarah, anatomi, motif, makna dan filosofi, yang dikemas dengan konten visual berupa ilustrasi dan dokumentasi foto. User testing dilakukan kepada responden dengan memberikan luaran desain untuk mendapatkan umpan balik.
Penyajian konten dilakukan dengan teknik fotografi dan ilustrasi dan dirangkai ke dalam sistematika umum ke khusus. Pembabakan materi dibagi menjadi empat bagian besar yang memiliki fokus berbeda dan saling melengkapi, yaitu sejarah Blitar, sejarah batik Blitar, ragam batik Blitar, dan keunikan batik Blitar. Dengan konsep pendekatan buku visual tersebut, buku visual batik Blitar dengan judul “Menyusur Tutur Batik Blitar” dapat menjadi media pengenalan sekaligus media pelestarian budaya di masa mendatang. Buku visual batik Blitar akan memudahkan pembaca dalam melihat, mengenal, dan memahami lebih dekat tentang batik Blitar.

The first batik of Blitar first recorded in 1902, known as Afkomstig Uit Blitar and is now in the Museum of Leiden - Netherlands. Batik of Blitar which is known now has only been revitalized since a decade ago in 2007. With a relatively young age, batik of Blitar is still not widely known. The lack of development of the introduction media that raised the potential of Batik of Blitar was a problem that became a crucial point. Therefore, an introduction to the media that brings batik of Blitar is needed at this time. Not only as a medium of introduction in a short period of time but the media that can be an authentic proof of the development of batik of Blitar. The media is presented in the form of batik of Blitar visual books that provide convenience to be made and distributed to various channels. The idea was supported by batik craftsmen, government agencies, and community leaders.
Batik of Blitar data collected using the method of literature studies, depth interviews, and observations. Literature studies include existing comparator studies and literature reviews. Depth interviews are used to get insights from batik craftsmen, government agencies, and stakeholders. Observation is used to extract data from the environment by documenting objects and subjects. With this method, the research data obtained is then processed using the affinity diagram method and then compiled into the systematics of book writing. Systematics includes history, anatomy, motives, meanings, and philosophies, which are packed with visual content in the form of illustrations and photo documentation. User testing is done to respondents by providing design output to get feedback.
The Batik of Blitar visual book aims to fill the gap between the subjects and the audiences. The presentation of content is done by photography and illustration techniques and arranged into general systematics to specific one. The material distribution is divided into four major sections which have a different focus and complement each other, namely the history of Blitar, the history of batik of Blitar, the variety of batik of Blitar, and the uniqueness of batik of Blitar. With the concept of a visual book approach, the batik of Blitar visual book entitled "Menyusur Tutur Batik Blitar" can be a medium of introduction as well as a medium for preserving culture in the future. The visual book of batik of Blitar will make it easier for readers to see, know and understand more closely about Batik of Blitar.
