Abstract
Analcime is one type of zeolite which has the structure formula Na2(Al2Si4O12)·2H2O. Analcime was successfully synthesized from kaolin Bangka Belitung via hydrothermal methods. The composition of the molar ratio for analcime synthesis was 4Na2O: Al2O3: 7SiO2: 132H2O. The effect of hydrothermal temperature on analcime formation was studied at 150, 170 and 200 ᴼC for 24 hours with aging time 72 hours. The characterization results of XRD and FTIR showed that pure analcime were formed at a crystallization temperature of 170 ᴼC and crystallinity increased with increasing crystallization temperature. However, at a temperature of 200 ᴼC crystallinity decreases due to the formation of new phases namely sodalite and NaP. The results of pure analcime synthesis was used as adsorption of Pb2+ metal ions. Based on the results of Pb2+ metal ion adsorption activity optimum test conditions occur at the addition of 0.01 grams of adsorbent weight, 30 minutes of contact time and 200 ppm adsorbate concentration. The maximum amount of Pb2+ ion adsorbed is 284 mg / g with adsorption percentage of 14.9%. The Pb2+ ion adsorption process is chemically more dominant than physics because it follows the Langmuir isotherm pattern (R = 0.9968) and pseudo second order kinetics (K2 = 0.001511 minutes)
