Abstract

Dilihat dari permasalahan seperti pengusaha batik merasa kesulitan mencari pengerajin yang kompeten, dan pemkab Sidoarjo yang berupaya mempatenkan batik Sidoarjo. Hal tersebut membuat peneliti berupaya membuat desain baru dari potensi daerah yang menjadi kekuatan pada batik yang akan dibuat. Dan potensi tersebut merupakan kekuatan dari kabupaten Sidoarjo.
Konsep Desai pada perancangan ini adalah “The New Batik by the strength of Sidoarjo”. Makna dari keywords tersebut dalah membuat desain motif batik baru yang berasal dari kekuatan dari Sidoarjo. Kekuatan tersebut berasal dari potensi daerah Sidoarjo. Sehingga harapannya dapat membuat desain baru sebagai upaya melestarikan dan memperkaya motif batik Sidoarjo.
Perancangan ini mengkaji tentang merancang desain batik baru dari potensi daerah Sidoarjo yang dapat menjadi kekuatan dari Sidoarjo. Ragam motif baru batik Sidoarjo ini adalah salah satu cara melestarikan dan memperkaya motif batik kabupaten Sidoarjo dan sebagai referensi para pengerajin batik Sidoarjo untuk berinovasi dan bereksperimen dalam mendesain batik. Sehingga banyak sekali potensi dari kabupaten sidoarjo yang menjadi kekuatan dari Sidoarjo yang dapat diolah menjadi motif batik.

Judging from problems such as batik entrepreneurs, it is difficult to find competent craftsmen, and Sidoarjo regency that seeks to patent Sidoarjo batik. This makes the researchers try to make new designs of regional potential that become the strength of the batik that will be made. And this potential is the strength of Sidoarjo district.
The concept of Desai in this design is "The New Batik by the Strength of Sidoarjo". The meaning of these keywords is to make a new batik motif design that comes from the strength of Sidoarjo. This power comes from the potential of the Sidoarjo region. So the hope is to create a new design as an effort to preserve and enrich the Sidoarjo batik motif.
This design examines the design of a new batik design from the potential of the Sidoarjo region which can be a strength from Sidoarjo. The variety of new motifs of Sidoarjo batik is one way to preserve and enrich batik motifs in Sidoarjo regency and as a reference for Sidoarjo batik craftsmen to innovate and experiment in designing batik. So that there is a lot of potential from Sidoarjo regency which is the strength of Sidoarjo which can be processed into a batik motif.
