Abstract

A respiratory rate monitoring system using digital image correlation
technique by microsft kinect camer had been designed. This monitoring
system works by reading every movement changes between rgb camera and
infrared camera periodically based on the reflection interactions that was
projected in a specific infrared pattern. This system could determine the
chest respiratory rate of an individualby analyzing the movement of depth
in thorax area and diaphragm respiratory rate by analyzing the depth
movement from stomach or belly area. The analyzed area was choose
based on the chest respiratory inspiration which shows that there are 6 cm
difference from the chest surface than expiration chest respiratory, this
process also happen on abdominal area whereas it shows 2 cm difference
during inspiration diaphragm respirator with the error that was obtained
from distance vallidation is 0.21 cm. Based on the frequency vallidation it
is obtained that microsoft kinect kamera had the error of 0.02 Hz, 0.04 Hz
and 0.02 Hz with the 3 known frequency of 12 RPM, 16 RPM and 18 RPM.
The respiratory rate data from 10 participants was also obtained and the
result was thera are 1 participant with slow rate, 4 normal rate and 5 fast
rate on chest respiratiry while the diaphragm respiratory there are
particapants with 2 slow rate, 5 normal rate and 3 fast rate based on 3
categories of respiratory rate. For sleeping position it was categorized as 1
slow rate and 2 normal rate on chest respiratory, while the diaphragm
respiratory there are 3 normal rates based on 3 subject participant.
