Abstract
Seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi, UKM kerupuk pasir dimana dalam proses produksi sudah menggunakan mesin penyangraian. Dalam proses penyangraian kerupuk menggunakan media pasir, mesin yang memiliki tungku penyangraian yang berbentuk silinder diperlukan suatu perencanaan kecepatan putaran tungku tertentu agar pasir dan kerupuk terjadi kontak secara terus. Desain mesin yang digunakan di UKM terbilang sederhana dimana panas proses sangrai terbuang ke lingkungan sekitar mesin sehingga operator mesin juga merasakan panas secara langsung dari proses sangrai. Maka dilakukan perencanaan mesin sangrai kerupuk pasir yang disesuaikan dengan kondisi UKM.
Dalam merencanakan mesin sangrai yang dilakukan adalah dimulai dengan observasi mesin di UKM dan observasi mesin yang sudah dibuat pada Tugas Akhir sebelumnya. Kemudian, dilanjutkan membuat desain mesin dengan konsep yang sudah ditentukan agar dapat digunakan oleh semua golongan UKM. Lalu, merencanakan mode gerak cataracting serta percobaan mode gerak.
Hasil perencanaan ini didapatkan mesin sangrai kerupuk dengan ulir pada tungku penggorengan dilengkapi pembalik putaran serta tempat penjemuran kerupuk. Untuk menghasilkan mode gerak cataracting diperlukan "n < 44,16 rpm" . Hasil perhitungan percobaan mode gerak dengan silinder berdiameter 320 mm dan tinggi 400 mm serta media pasir dengan massa 1 Kg didapat mode gerak cataracting pada "n < 55,71 rpm" yaitu pada kecepatan 52,1 rpm. Mode gerak centrifuging pada kecepatan 141,9 rpm.

Along with technological advances, the sand cracker home industry where in the production process has been using a sand frying machine. In the process of roasting crackers using machine and sand as a media of roasting which has a cylindrical furnace, it is necessary to plan the rotation speed of the furnace so that the sand and crackers occur in direct contact. The design of the machine used is fairly simple where the heat frying process is wasted into the environment around the machine so the operator also feels heat directly from the frying process. Then, machine planning is needed.
The first step to planning the machine is doing observation in the UKM and machine observations that have been made in the previous Final Project. Then, it was continued to design machines with a predetermined concept that could be used by all UKM groups. Then, planning the cataracting motion and motion mode experiments.
The results of this plan obtained sand frying machine with screw on a frying pan equipped with a rotating turnover and drying place for crackers. To produce a cataracting motion mode it is required n < 44.16 rpm. The calculation results of the motion mode experiment with cylinders with a diameter of 320 mm and a height of 400 mm and sand media with a mass of 1 Kg obtained the cataracting motion mode at n < 55.71 rpm which is at a speed of 52 rpm. Centrifuging mode at speed of 141,9 rpm.
