Abstract
Limbah padat lumpur (LPL) masih menimbulkan
PDAM Bandarmasih Banjarmasin KAL-SEL. Tahapan proses
dibagi menjadi beberapa tahap, yaitu tahap preparasi LPL PDAM
Banjarmasin, tahap analisa karakteristik LPL PDAM

Waste Purification Sludge (WPS) is still pose a problem for
the local water company (PDAM) because of a comparatively
very much and has not been utilized to the fullest. WPS have a
fairly large content of Al2O3 (18.5%), so it has the potential to do
the recovery of aluminum. In this study used acidfication method
for recovery of aluminum because this method has a higher
efficient recovery and lower operating costs compared to other
methods.
The methodology in this research using acidification in the
form of 32% HCl in order to extract aluminum from WPS taken
from Water Treatment Plant System 1 (IPA 1) PDAM
Bandarmasih Banjarmasin KAL-SEL. Stage of the process is
divided into several stages, namely preparation phase of WPS
PDAM Banjarmasin, phase characteristic analysis of WPS
PDAM, phase agitated leaching process, and phase characteristic
analysis of filtrate from agitated leaching process. In this study
uses a series of tools agitated leaching, and several variables,
namely the concentration of HCl solvent (0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 4 M), leaching temperature (30, 50, 70, and 90ᵒC), and leaching time (5,
10, 15, 20, 25, 30 , 40, 50, and 60 minutes).
Results from this study showed that the optimum results are
achieved at a temperature 90 °C, and the solvent concentration 2
M with aluminum recovery of 68.49% in the leaching time of 10
minutes. From the experiments it was found that the higher the
temperature and concentration of HCl, the recovery of aluminum
will be even greater with increasing time.
The conclusion of this research that WPS PDAM
Banjarmasin have a fairly high content of Al2O3 (18.5%). And the
optimum results are achieved at a concentration of 2 M, leaching
temperature 90 ° C, and the leaching time of 60 minutes.
