Abstract
Benzene dengan rumus kimia C6H6 merupakan senyawa yang
volatile, tidak berwarna dan mudah terbakar. Umumnya benzene
banyak digunakan sebagai bahan baku dalam sintesis dari styrene,
phenol, cyclohexane, aniline, alkylbenzene, chlorobenzene dan produk
lain yang digunakan dalam proses produksi obat, insektisida dan
plastic. Pabrik Benzene ini mempunyai kapasitas sebesar 70000
ton/tahun. Lokasi pendirian pabrik direncanakan di Cilegon, Banten.
Pabrik menggunakan bahan baku Toluene dan Hydrogen. Bahan baku
yang digunakan yaitu Toluene sebesar 25071.97 kg/jam dan hydrogen
sebesar 136.2607 kg/hari.Proses produksi benzene dilakukan dengan
proses Hydrodealkilasi, dimana feed berupa toluene direaksikan dengan
hydrogen dalam sebuah reactor, di reactor ini terjadi reaksi
hydrodealkilas, reactor beroperasi pada temperature 6000C dengan
tekanan 25.5 bar. Hasil keluaran dari reactor akan masuk ke separator
kemudian masuk ke kolom fraksinasi untuk memisahkan benzene
dengan hasil samping dari reaksi yang terjadi yaitu methane, sisa
toluene yang tidak terkonversi dan xylene yang nantinya akan
ditampung dalam storage tank. Kebutuhan utilitas pada pabrik benzene
meliputi air pendingin sebesar 14324,30099 kg/hari, air umpan boiler
sebesar 9152,9867 kg/hari, air sanitasi sebesar 36480 kg/hari, dan air
kebutuhan tambahan sebesar 411,58587006 2 kg/hari. Produk utama
yang dihasilkan yaitu benze dengan kemurnian 99,96%.

Benzene (C6H6) is a volatile compound, colorless and
highly flammable. Generally, benzene is being used as a raw
material in the synthesis of styrene, phenol, cyclohexane, aniline,
alkyl benzene, chlorobenzene and can be used in the production of
drugs, insecticides and plastic. Benzene can also be used as a
solvent in the extraction. Benzene factory has a capacity of 70000
tons / year. Location of the factory is in Cilegon, Banten. The plant
uses raw materials are Toluene and Hydrogen. The raw material
used is Toluene for about 25071.97 kg / hr and hydrogen for
about136.2607 kg / day. The production process is done by a
Hydrodealkylation process, which toluene is reacted with hydrogen
in a reactor, in this reactor occur the hydrodealkylation reaction.
Before entering the reactor, feed to be heated using feed pre-heater
and then feed enter to the reactor, the reactor operates at
temperatures of 6000C with a pressure of 25.5 bar. The output of the
reactor will enter into separator and then into the benzene column
to separate benzene with the byproducts of the reaction are
methane, unconverted toluene and xylene that will be
accommodated in a storage tank. The utility needs of plants are
14324,30099 kg/day of cooling water, 9152,9867 kg/day of boiler
feedwater, 36480 kg/day of sanitation water,and 411,58587006 2
kg/day of water process. The main products are benzene with
99.96% purity. Byproducts are methane, and xylene.
