Abstract

reaktor/Hydraulic Retention Time (HRT) yaitu 6 jam dan 8 jam
biodegradabel. ========== The expansion of the restaurants that are becoming more
rapidly are bound to exiles also increase emissions domestic
waste water with organic levels that is high in the number of a fair
number of those disposed into a body of water. In this research is
used a restaurant wastewater that taken in the area of keputih,
surabaya which where in the restaurants there has not been further
processing. The high levels of organic domestic waste in
restaurants will cause the scent of bad if there is no processing
beforehand.
The research was done with the process of biofilter aerobic
with gravel and natural stone media. The variable in this research
are media biofilter namely in the form of gravel and nature stone
also lifetime in a reactor/hydraulic retention time ( hrt ) namely 6
hours and 8 hours with streams downflow and use intermitten
system. While parameters that will analysed are BOD, COD, and
TSS. Methods that used to determine BOD value in wastewater is
5-day BOD test method, for COD analysis used closed reflux
titimetric method, while to determine the TSS value, gravimetry
method is used.
The results of research shows that the efficiency of bod
removal is 94,83 %, while for COD is 92,95 %, and TSS is 95 %,
occurred in aerobic biofilter reactor HRT 8 hours with gravel media.
The ratio of the bod/cod is 0,36-0,49 where the wastewater is in
stable condition and is biodegradable.
