Abstract
Pendidikan merupakan salah satu sektor penting dalam memberikan kontribusi dalam mengembangkan kualitas sumber daya manusia di Indonesia. Permasalahan pendidikan di Indonesia salah satunya karena tingginya jumlah murid putus sekolah pada suatu jenjang pendidikan. Putus Sekolah merupakan murid yang meninggalkan sekolah sebelum lulus pada jenjang pendidikan tertentu, semakin rendah angka putus sekolah maka semakin baik. Jawa Timur merupakan provinsi dengan jumlah murid putus sekolah terbanyak kedua setelah Jawa Barat yaitu sebesar 3.850 murid pada tahun 2017 untuk jenjang pendidikan SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Generalized Poisson Regression untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang diduga berpengaruh terhadap jumlah murid putus sekolah menengah atas tahun 2017. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil variabel yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap jumlah murid putus sekolah menengah atas di Jawa Timur adalah persentase penduduk miskin dan harapan lama sekolah. ==============================================================================================================================
Education is one of the important sectors in contributing to developing the quality of human resources in Indonesia, education Problems in Indonesia is a high number of student dropping out of school at a level education. Drop out of school is students who leave school before graduation at a certain level of education, the lower dropout numbers the better education. East Java is the province with the most number of student drop out of school population after West Java, in amount to 3,850 for senior high school. This research method using Generalized Poisson Regression to find out the factors that affect the number of student dropped out of school in East Java in 2017. Based on the research that has been done get the results is variables that effect significantly to the number of student drop out of school in East Java was percentage of poor people and school expectation number.
