Abstract

Makroalga Ceratodictyon spongiosum merupakan jenis alga filum Rhodophyta yang banyak ditemukan di perairan tropis pulau Talango, Sumenep, Jawa Timur. Kondisi ekosistem wilayah tersebut memungkinkan organisme makroalga menghasilkan berbagai bahan organik yang bersifat aktif sebagai agen pertahanan. Bahan organik tersebut merupakan senyawa khas untuk organisme makroalga yang dapat menjadi marka bioaktivitasnya. Ekstrak makroalga Ceratodictyon spongiosum berhasil dipisahkan dari fraksi n-heksana ekstrak metanol menggunakan kromatografi cair – spektroskopi massa. Identifikasi lipid dominan menghasilkan beberapa fosfolipid dan glikolipid serta satu jenis PUFA. Fraksi n-heksana ekstrak metanol diketahui aktif terhadap bakteri gram negatif E. coli dan bakteri gram positif S. aureus. Senyawa-senyawa isolat dapat digunakan sebagai marka makroalga Ceratodictyon spongiosum serta bioaktivitasnya pada perairan tropis. =========================================================================================================== Macroalgae Ceratodictyon spongiosum represent of phylum Rhodophyta which is highly found in tropical ocean Talango island, Sumenep, Jawa Timur. The ecosystem of those area enable the macroalgae producing various biologically active organic substances. The organic substances characterize the typical compound for those macroalgae which can be biologically active markers. The result compounds were extracted from n-hexane fraction of methanol extract by liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry. Major lipid of macroalgae Ceratodictyon spongiosum obtained as phospholipid, glycolipid and PUFA. Nhexane fraction of methanol extract was evaluated for antibacterial activity against gram-negative strain E. coli and gram-positive strain S. aureus. The result compounds are useful as biomarker of macroalgae Ceratodictyon spongiosum and its antibacterial activity in those area.
