Abstract

Security Constrained DCOPF is the development of OPF by taking into contingency on the transmission line and generator ramp rate. Contingency disturbances that occur in transmission line can cause blackout and failure of generator unit for generate electricity. In Sulselbar system, blackout that occur last up to 5 hours due to the presence of contingency interference on the transmission line. To overcome the blackout disturbance, the electric power system planning, namely Security Constrained DCOPF, is considered load shedding. In determining the generation plan, there are constraints that must be fulfilled and do not exceed the limits, such as generator ramp rate, line capacity, load demand, and contingency. Load shedding is used to resolve the generator unit so as not to experience blackout and still be able to service load demand. The method in calculating SCOPF is by using Quadratic programming which is applied to Matlab and Matpower software based on data on the limits that have been taken. The results of SCOPF calculations on Matlab and Matpower can be used to minimize blackouts that occur in the Sulselbar system.
