Abstract
PT. Indonesia Power UP Suralaya Unit 5.

PT. Indonesia Power Up Suralaya Unit 5 is one of the largest Coal Power Plant in Indonesia which is has capacity 1 x 600 MW a day. But unfortunately the electrical systems never been reviewed, especially for Protection Coordination. Protection Coordination has very important role to maintain continuity and improve the ability of the electrical systems. Therefore, it is needed appropriate Protection Coordinatian with considering Arc Flash to protect equipment from any disturbances and minimize the danger of Arc Flash energy that impact to the workers. In this Final Project carried out Study of Protecetion Coordination in PT. Indonesia Power UP Suralaya Unit 5. The main task is to determine the apropriate coordination setting for Over Current Relay and Ground Fault Relay and analyze the magnitude of arc flash energy incidents that occurs on each bus to determine safety limits for workers based on IEEE 1584-2002 standard. And determining the personal protective equipment used in accordance with the arc flash energy categories based on NFPA 70E-2015 standard. The result of this final project is decreased magnitude of arc flash energy incidents after resetting on buses 10,5 kV SWGR-5A, 10,5 kV SWGR-5B, 3,3 kV SWGR-5A and 10,5 kV SWGR-5B from 21,814 cal/cm2, 21,843 cal/cm2, 14,076 cal/cm2 dan 13,939 cal/cm2 become 16,906 cal/cm2, 16,906 cal/cm2, 13,387 cal/cm2 and 13,517 cal/cm2. This is because the value of FCT become smaller after Protection Coordination carried out. The value of FCT from 0,55 and 0,65 seconds become 0,4 and 0,6 seconds after resetting.
