Abstract

Industri manufaktur mempunyai kegiatan utama yaitu mengubah bahan baku atau bahan setengah jadi menjadi barang jadi yang memenuhi standar spesifikasi. Terdapat beberapa proses yang dikerjakan secara manual dan memakan waktu lama sehingga dibutuhkannya sistem otomasi. Tapping and washing machine autoloader plant adalah salah satu sistem otomasi di sebuah industri. Beberapa proses yang terjadi pada plant ini, diantaranya proses pembersihan benda kerja setelah dilakukan proses pemesinan, proses tapping pada bagian housing end kanan dan kiri, dan yang terakhir adalah proses washing bagian dalam dan bagian luar housing setelah proses tapping dilakukan. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) digunakan pada sistem otomasi sebagai pusat kendali untuk melaksanakan suatu pekerjaan secara terprogram dengan akurat sehingga menghindari terjadinya kegagalan proses karena banyaknya langkah (sequence) yang harus dilalui pada tapping and washing machine autoloader plant. Bahasa pemrograman PLC yang digunakan adalah ladder diagram dengan metode State Diagram. State Diagram merupakan sebuah grafik yang merepresentasikan kejadian ataupun keadaan suatu sistem dalam bentuk lingkaran. Lingkaran tersebut biasa disebut dengan state. Hasil pemodelan sistem menggunakan metode State Diagram kemudian dikonversi menjadi ladder diagram dan didapatkan 63 relay, 1 timer, 4 counter, 1 comparator, 48 output serta 117 total rung. Rata-rata waktu proses yang dihasilkan adalah 3 menit 49 detik.

The manufacturing industry has the main activity of converting raw materials or semi-finished materials into finished materials according to specification standards. There are several processes that are done manually and take a long time so that the automation system is needed. Tapping and washing machine autoloader plant is one of the automation systems in an industry. Some of the processes that occur in this plant including the process of cleaning the workpiece after the machining process, the tapping process on the right and left end of the housing, and the last is the process of washing inside and outside the housing after the tapping process is done. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is used in automation systems as a controller to carry out programmed work accurately so as to avoid the process failures due to lot of sequences that must be done by the tapping and washing machine autoloader plant. The programming language that is used is ladder diagram using the state diagram method. State diagram is a graph that represents an event or state of a system in the form of a circle. This circle is usually called a state. The results by modelling system using state diagram method then converted into a ladder diagram and obtained 63 relays, 1 timer, 4 counters, 1 comparator, 48 outputs and 117 rungs. The average time of a process is 3 minutes 49 seconds.
