Abstract

Poverty continues to be a problem in Indonesia. Poverty is influenced by several indicators, one of which is education indicators. Educational indicators that are thought to have an effect on poverty are AMH (Literacy Rate), APS (School Participation Rate), APM (Pure Participation Rate), APK (Gross Participation Rate), and RLS (Average School Length). Similarly, in East Java Province, the percentage of poor people in East Java tends to fluctuate. This is certainly influenced by several variables. In this study modeling the percentage of poor people based on education indicators with the aim of knowing which variables have a significant effect. Because there is an effect of time so the method used in this study is panel data regression. Panel data regression is a combination of cross section and time series data. Based on the results of panel data regression, it was concluded that the best model chosen was using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach between individuals. Educational indicators that influence the percentage of poor people in the Regency / City of East Java Province are Pure Participation Figures, Literacy Rates, and Average School Length.
