Abstract

Ketebalan reservoir (net pay) sebagai parameter dalam evaluasi reservoir dapat mengidentifikasi kualitas geologi reservoir dan ketersediaan hidrokarbon. Namun, interval ketebalan disetiap sumur tidak selalu sama. Hal ini disebabkan karena kualitas instrumen alat logging yang digunakan dapat mempengaruhi pembacaan log sehingga perlu dilakukan normalisasi dimana pembacaan nilai minimal dan maksimal sebuah log pada zona tertentu harus memiliki nilai yang sama. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mendapatkan interpretasi pengaruh normalisasi gamma ray terhadap perhitungan net pay dalam penentuan prospek reservoir hidrokarbon. Perhitungan net pay dilakukan dua proses yaitu dengan normalisasi dan tanpa normalisasi terhadap gamma ray. Pada proses normalisasi gamma ray digunakan 2 metode yaitu berdasarkan nilai persentil kumulatif 3% dan 93% pada sumur PE_05, PE_08 dan PE_35. Selanjutya dilakukan perhitungan parameter petrofisika. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu net pay summary yang terdiri dari parameter petrofisika yaitu VCL, PHIE dan Sw. Nilai Net pay tertinggi berada pada sumur PE_35 dengan nilai net pay normal sebesar 12 ft. Setelah dilakukan normalisasi menggunakan persentil kumulatif 93%, nilai net pay menjadi 13,5, sedangkan menggunakan persentil kumulatif 3% sebesar 51,5 ft. Prosentasi tingkat optimasi ketebalan bersih reservoir (net pay) tersebut melebihi 5% dari kondisi normal. Dengan demikian, normalisasi perlu dilakukan dimana metode normalisasi yang digunakan agar didapatkan nilai net pay yang optimistik adalah persentil kumulatif 93%.

Reservoir thickness as a parameter in reservoir evaluation can identify reservoir geological quality and hydrocarbon content. However, the thickness interval in each well is not always the same. This is caused by the quality of the instrument logging tools used that affect the log reading so it needs to be normalized where the reading of the minimum and maximum values of a log in interest zone must have the same value. The aim of this study is to interpret the effect of gamma ray normalization on the net pay calculation in determining the prospect of a hydrocarbon reservoir. The net pay calculation is carried out by two processes, namely normalization and without normalization of gamma ray. In the gamma ray normalization process, 2 methods were used, namely based on the values of the cumulative percentile 3% and 93% in wells PE_05, PE_08 and PE_35. The next step is calculating the petrophysical parameters. The results obtained are net pay summary which consists of petrophysical parameters such us; VCL, PHIE, and Sw. The highest Net pay value in PE_35 wells with a normal net pay value is 12 ft. After normalization using the 93% cumulative percentile, the net pay value is 13.5, while using the cumulative percentile is 51.5 ft. The percentage of optimization of the net thickness of the reservoir exceeds 5% from normal conditions. Thus, normalization needs to be done where the normalization method used to obtain an optimistic net pay value is the 93% cumulative percentile.
