Abstract

The lack focus of research on Upper Orbitoid Calc Formation has an impact on the absence of proper well data in this formation, it is considered to be one of the obstacles in structural and stratigraphic identification in this formation. This study aims to determine facies boundaries in the study area by identifying structures and stratigraphy. Structural and stratigraphic identification can be done by multi-attribute seismic analysis, which is a method used to predict reservoar properties of several seismic attributes with static correlation. Seimic attributes are quantitative derivatives of a basic seismic measurement that results from extraction of seismic traces, surface horizons, and the sum of results on a certain interval of window ranges. In this study, attributes which focused on the upper and lower horizon of the Upper Orbitoid Calc Formation were applied to reduce factors that could influence the analysis outside the study area. This study used Root Mean Square (RMS) Amplitude attribute, Average Positive Amplitude, Average Energy, Maximum Amplitude, and Arc Length. The correlation used in this study is in the range of values of 0.41 to 0.99. The results of multi-attribute seismic analysis were able to identify the carbonate facies boundary structurally and combined with the Calc Reef internal Orbitoid stratigraphic event. It was found that there were two large reefs scattered in the west of the study area and three small reefs scattered in the east of the study area. Identification of carbonate facies boundaries can be useful for early identification of oil and gas exploration in the carbonate area.
