Abstract
Selama ini, material plastik sudah banyak digunakan dalam berbagai bidang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan manusia. Hal ini mengakibatkan limbah plastik semakin meningkat di darat maupun di laut, sehingga perlu adanya daur ulang sampah plastik. Plastik HDPE dapat didaur ulang sebagai reinforced pada komposit papan partikel semen. Selain limbah plastik, wire mesh juga mampu menjadi reinforced bagi komposit. Maka dari itu, pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan penelitian penggunaan variasi komposisi limbah plastik HDPE yang diperkuat dengan adanya wire mesh untuk menganalisis sifat fisis dan sifat mekanis komposit papan partikel semen. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah meliputi pengujian mikroskop optik digital, uji kuat lentur, uji kuat tekan, uji densitas, dan uji absorpsi air. Dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa HDPE dan wire mesh mempengaruhi sifat fisis dan sifat mekanik komposit. Pengujian mikroskop optk digital menunjukkan matriks pasta semen dengan filler HDPE dan wire mesh. Nilai kuat lentur dan kuat tekan tertinggi didapatkan dari komposit dengan variasi penambahan 0,5% HDPE dengan penambahan wire mesh. Nilainya masing – masing sebesar 10,141 MPa dan 21,07 MPa. Nilai densitas komposit tertinggi sebesar 1,335 gr/cm3 pada komposisi 0% HDPE tanpa wire mesh. Nilai absorpsi air komposit terendah sebesar 8,162% pada komposisi 0% dengan wire mesh. Komposit yang dapat diaplikasikan sebagai papan partikel semen adalah komposit dengan komposisi 70% semen 30% bata ringan 0,5% HDPE dengan penambahan wire mesh.

All this time, plastic have been widely used in various fields to fulfill human needs. This has resulted in increasing plastic waste on land and sea, then there is a need to recycle plastic waste. HDPE plastic can be recycled as reinforced on cement particle board composites. In addition to plastic waste, wire mesh is also capable of being reinforced for composites. Therefore, will be made on the use of variations in the composition of HDPE plastic waste which is reinforced by the presence of wire mesh to analyze the physical and mechanical properties of cement particle board composites in this study. Tests carried out include digital optical microscope testing, flexural strength test, compressive strength test, density test, and water absorbability test. It can be seen that HDPE and wire mesh affect physical and mechanical properties of composites. Digital optical microscope testing showed a matrix of cement paste with HDPE and wire mesh filler. The highest flexural strength and compressive strength were obtained from composite with variations in the addition of 0.5% HDPE with the addition of wire mesh. The values are 10.141 MPa and 21.07 MPa respectively. The highest density value of composite is 1.335 gr / cm3 in the composition of 0% HDPE without wire mesh. The lowest water absorption value of composite is 8.162% at 0% composition with wire mesh. Compositethat can be applied as cement particle board is composite with a composition of 70% cement 30% lighweight brick 0.5% HDPE with the addition of wire mesh.
