Abstract

Gold is a precious metal that has high economic benefits for individuals, groups and countries. Besides being used as jewelry, gold is also an investment instrument that acts as a protector of asset values owned by the influence of inflation. Gold exploration is currently carried out with a number of methods, namely geophysical mapping, geology, test trenches, soil geochemistry / river deposits that require a long time and large and difficult costs to be carried out over large areas. Mapping the gold potential in IUP Cibaliung is done by utilizing the Geographic Information System (GIS) can be useful to support the exploration activities. The potential gold map is generated from overlaying the morphological structure map, Controlled Source Audio-frequency Magnetotelluric (CSAMT) map, magnetic map, Induzed Polarization (IP) Resistivity map, Induzed Polarization (IP) Chargeability map, lithology map, and alteration maps which are then carried out weighting and calculation of the scoring method. From the results of processing, the potential map of gold can be classified as 3 classes, namely high potential, medium potential, and low potential. The high potential area is 100% by vein in the IUP CSD. For areas that have a high potential gold level of 4% with a total area of 263,205 ha which is dominated in the CSD area with an area of 209,316 ha.
