Abstract

Seiring dengan pertumbuhan Industri dan data peningkatan jumlah kendaraan bermotor maka jumlah pemakaian oli sebagai pelumas mesin juga akan semakin meningkat. Peningkatan konsumsi lube based oil dianalogikan sebanding dengan jumlah minyak pelumas bekas yang dihasilkan. Jumlah pelumas bekas yang tinggi ini dikhawatirkan akan dibuang atau digunakan kembali namun tanpa melalui pengolahan yang tidak benar dan bertanggung jawab yang dapat menyababkan pencemaran lingkungan. Sedangkan di sisi lain, cadangan energi minyak bumi sebagai bahan baku pembuatan minyak pelumas juga semakin berkurang. Karena itu diperlukan pengolahan kembali limbah pelumas menjadi minyak pelumas dasar. Minyak pelumas dasar memiliki karakteristik berdasarkan golongannya. Jika melihat permintaan di negara-negara asia pelumas dasar golongan II masih menjadi mayoritas permintaan dan diperkirakan masih akan mengalami kenaikan sehingga peluang produksi pelumas dasar golongan II masih terbuka. Berdasarkan analisa proses yang dilakukan maka dipilih proses mohawk yang terdiri dari tahap hidrasi, gasoil removal, asphalt removal, hidrothreating, dan terakhir proses fraksinasi sehingga dihasilkan prosuk minyak pelumas dasar golongan II

Along with the growth of the industry and data on the increase in the number of vehicles, the amount of oil used as engine lubricants will also increase. The increase in oil-based oil consumption is analogous to that of the used lubricating oil produced. The high amount of used lubricant is feared to be issued or reused but without improper and responsible processing that can cause environmental pollution. While on the other hand, petroleum energy reserves as raw material for making lubricating oil are also decreasing. Therefore, it is necessary to reprocess lubricant waste into basic lubricating oil. Lubricating oil has characteristics based on its class. If you look at demand in Asian countries, Group II base lubricants still need assistance and it is estimated that it will still need to increase production of base II base lubricants still open. Based on the process carried out, the chosen process consists of hydration, gasoil removal, asphalt removal, concealment, and the final process produced from the basic class II lubricating oil process
