Abstract

A landslide occured on 22nd June 2018 in Songgon, Banyuwangi which caused a change in the physical environment in the affected area, that are in Songgon and Singojuruh. Identification of changes in land physical environment is carried out using fusion (combined) images of Sentinel-1 (radar system) images and Sentinel-2 (optical system) images. Fusion images integrate the advantages of the original image, where Sentinel-1 images will highlight the shape of the earth's topography while Sentinel-2 images give coloring to objects. Analysis of changes in the physical environment of land due to landslides is seen based on the variables that influence the occurrence of soil movements, including slope, soil texture, geology, rainfall, and land use by processing Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Classification of land cover in Sentinel fusion images is divided into five classes, there are water bodies, settlements, forests/gardens, shrubs, and rice fields / moor. Judging from the results of land cover between before and after the occurrence of landslides, it shows that forest/garden land is the most reduced land cover where the biggest change is to become rice fields/moor. The results of changes in land cover indicate that rice fields / moorlands have the most increase, where the biggest changes come from forest / garden land. One of the land changes occurred at the location of the landslide in the Ijen Mountains area, Songgon. Natural disasters are a factor causing changes in the physical environment of the land. The location of the landslide itself is in an area with high potential for landslides. At the time of the incident, on three previous days there were successive rains which made the water seep into the rocks and soil, making the soil saturated with water and increasing its mass. A very steep slope causes the ground mass to move down quickly.
