Abstract

Methylene blue merupakan zat pewarna yang sering digunakan disemua kalangan. Efek samping dari Methylene Blue adalah iritasi mata, kulit, hypotension dan sianosis. Precussor Copper (II) acetate digunakan untuk mensintesis CuO. Metode modifikasi Hummer digunakan untuk mensintesis grafit menjadi reduced graphene oxide dan dilanjutkan dengan metode hydrothermal pada temperatur 1600 selama 16 jam. Komposit varaisi massa 2%, 4% dan 6% CuO/rGO telah berhasil disintesis dan dibuktikan dengan pengujian XRD. Untuk material rGO pada peak 2θ=26,60 dan material CuO pada tiga peak tertinggi 2θ=35.27o, 36.17o dan 38.52o. Pada karakterisasi FTIR menunjukkan penghilangan gugus hidroksil pada peak 3293 cm-1 di material rGO dan pada material CuO terbentuk pada wavenumber 510 cm-1. Dan untuk pengujian SEM morfologi yang terbentuk terdapat lembaran tipis yang mengindikasikan reduced graphene oxide dan CuO yang berbentuk microsphere. Methylene blue berhasil terdegradasi dengan lampu UV 20Watt dalam waktu 7 menit dengan maksimal presentase degradasi sebesar 96.44%.

Methylene blue is a coloring agent that is often used in all circles. Side effects of Methylene Blue are eye irritation, skin, hypotension and cyanosis. Copper (II) acetate precursors are used to synthesize CuO. The Hummer modification method was used to synthesize graphite into Reduced Graphene Oxide and the making of CuO/rGO composites 2%, 4% and 6% was carried out by the hydrothermal method at a temperature of 1600C for 16 hours. 2%, 4% and 6% CuO/rGO composites have been successfully synthesized and proven by XRD testing. rGO material in peak 2θ=26.60 and CuO material in the three highest peaks 2θ= 35.270, 36.170 and 38.520. In FTIR characterization showed the removal of -OH group at 3293 cm-1 peak in rGO material and in CuO material formed on 510 cm-1 wavenumber. SEM testing the morphology formed is thin sheet which indicates rGO and CuO in the form of microspheres. Methylene blue was successfully degraded with a 20Watt UV lamp within 7 minutes with a maximum percentage of degradation of 96.44%.
